DICE and EA have been struck with pure rage from BF4 server admins, battlelog forum users as well as harsh criticism from main stream media. This has forced them to sent another press release to IGN, Polygon and PC gamer from EA, stating that DICE will stop working on all of their future projects (including future Battlefield 4 DLC’s) in order to get the game fixed.
“We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game,” an EA spokesperson told PC Gamer in a statement. “It is absolutely our #1 priority. The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game.” The spokesperson also asserted a commitment to fix player issues. “We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right.”
China Rising DLC was still released, maybe just because DICE thought that canceling it would make Battlefield gamers even more angry, but in true DICE fashion the new DLC brought new problems to the table.
Future projects that will probably be delayed are most likely Mirrors Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront, however since the release date for those games has yet to be announced , there is no real harm done. The real harm is on the Battlefield community which has received a broken game filled with all sorts of bugs, such as the God Mode bug, one shot kill bug (apparently fixed with the last patch) and the worst of them all the constant game crashes that plague the game to this very day.
DICE and EA have tried to redeem themselves by introducing a double XP weekend, however when your game crashes, zero times double XP is still zero, right?
The only question is: How much time will it take for them to fix this ?
Netcode in this game is far worse than in Battlefield 3 (which was BAD even then) and the fix for this is something that the Battlefield community was craving since day one.
