Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in a 60 minutes interview talked about a new way of delivering products the company will implement in the near future. This feature is called Prime Air, a new delivery system designed to ship products to consumers “in 30 minutes or less” using air drones.
These octo-copter bots will be able to carry packages smaller than 2.2kg, which makes around 86% of packages that Amazon ships, their flight range will not exceed 10 miles. However Amazon states that it will take a few years before Prime Air will be available, since they are improving technology and they also need to wait for FAA Rules and Regulations.
In the best case scenario, Amazon will start using these drones in 2015.
